Badminton is a fun sport in which the entire family can participate together. The region has a reputation for producing some top representative players and encouraging people to come along to the clubs to develop their skills at all levels.
The Badminton Association promotes and fosters badminton in the region by managing the facilities, providing opportunities for coaching, umpiring, competition at local, school and national level.
Clubs operate weekly games and have high participation of both Junior & Veteran players. Badminton Eastland runs regular Fun Tournaments and Mercantile Events.
Based at the Badminton Centre on Childers Road Reserve and in Patutahi, there are four clubs, which cater to all different levels of playing ability from the beginner to the seasoned player. All clubs offer a casual fee or a yearly subscription. Rackets are available.
