Manawakura – Healthy Active Learning

Whiti Ora offers support to primary and intermediate schools with the aim of supporting and empowering their staff to deliver Healthy Active Learning.

Manawakura is our approach to Healthy Active Learning that puts the focus on wellbeing. This approach looks at the needs, wants and aspirations of our kura and schools in Te Tairāwhiti to help tamariki move a little more and think about how they fuel their bodies.

Support available to schools:

  • Curriculum planning
  • Resource assessment and identification
  • Event support
  • Relationship with local sports and active recreation groups and organisations
  • Schools focused personal development (PD) for teachers

If our Manawakura team can help your kura or school to engage with community groups, individuals, or entities to help shape, and add value to your school or kura activities and learning, please contact us.
